Obituary

Arlene Wightman passed away on January 5, 2026.

Arlene Joyce Wightman was born on July 22, 1046 in Berkley, California to Glen B. and Dorothy C. Barber.

The family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico for her parents to work at LASL in Los Alamos.

Arlene graduated from Loretto High School in May of 1964. After high school she attended the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. While there she met John D. Wightman, the love of her life and they were married on October 21, 1967 in Santa Fe, NM.

Arlene and John made their home in Leavenworth, Kansas where she continued her education at Saint Mary University, first becoming a school teacher and then later a registered nurse.

Arlene was born and raised in a catholic family and continued to follow her faith in God and be a part of the Catholic Community her entire life.

She is survived by her sister, Eva (Mike) Cerise, sister in law Annette (Glen E.) Barber and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

IN lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to your favorite charity.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday January 13, 2026 from 5 to 7 with a rosary at 5. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday January 14, 2026 at St. Francis de Sales Church, 906 Ida St. Lansing, Kansas, at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery, in the family plot in Lansing, Kansas.
