Barbara Ann Lamborn, age 76 passed away peacefully Sunday morning April 13, 2025. She was born January 2, 1949 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of Edward and Mary Hobbs. She graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1967 and graduated from Kansas State University with honors in 1970.
On June 7, 1969 she married Robert D. Lamborn in Wichita, Kansas. Their son Seth was born June 24, 1972.
Barb returned to Kansas State and received her teaching certificate. She taught English for many years in Manhattan, Garden City, Sublette, and Copeland, Kansas. She was a gifted educator and received numerous awards
Barb loved reading, singing, writing poetry, Kansas State, Day Lilies, movies, Boston Terriers, and traveling. Barb and Bob were able to travel to their ultimate destination of Egypt, cruise the Nile, and visit the Pyramids. They were also able to visit many countries in Europe. The family hiked to bottom the Grand Canyon and explored North America from coast to coast.
She is survived by her husband Bob of the home, a son Seth and daughter-in-law Jessica in Salina, a brother David in Manhattan, and a granddaughter Elle in Salina.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to the Kansas State University Foundation for the Barbara A. and Robert D. Lamborn Family Scholarship #S75862. This scholarship is for students in Riley, Haskell, and Leavenworth Counties for students desiring to be teachers.
A visitation/memorial service will held on April 21,2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee Street, Leavenworth, Kansas 66043. Interment will be private at a future date.
