Barbara Jane (Harris) Mires a long time Leavenworth County resident, passed away February 22 ^nd , 2021 in Topeka.

Barbara was born in Tyrone, Pennsylvania on January 16 ^th of 1944. The eldest daughter of Donald L. and Leoma "Dolly" (Dunavan) Harris.

Barbara married Elmer Leroy Mires on April 5 ^th , 1964. She was a homemaker and mother of six children. Barbara was a member of the Springdale Homemaker's Club, was a room mother at Easton schools for over 20 years and later worked for the Easton Bus Service.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Deanna Harris, and one son, Alex.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Elmer Mires of Easton, and her sister, Linda Harris of Lansing, her five children; Sharla Vandruff (Brian) of Topeka, Phillip Mires of Easton and Susan Collins (Ron) of Easton, Stacy Rycheck (Kevin) of Garnett, and Shelly Mires. Barbara is also survived by her five grandchildren.

A public visitation is planned at Davis Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth on Monday evening from 5 to 7. Interment will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
