On Thursday, February 17,2022 Betty Ann East, 85 of Leavenworth, KS passed away peacefully.  I'm glad to be able to call her my Grandma.  She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Friend to many throughout her life.  She acquired many friends both young and old, loved by all she met.

Betty was predeceased in death by her Husband Thomas B. East, parents Waldo and Florence Briggs, Sister Florence (Bridget) Poe, daughter, Deborah (Debbie) Ruby-Haack, Granddaughters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Jones, Amanda Aldridge and Son-in-laws Dennis Aldridge, Phil Haack, and Steve Phillips.  As sad as the family is she is survived by her brother Leon Briggs and wife Carolyn, two daughters Nancy Aldridge and Peggy Colon and husband Elmer.  Nine grandchildren Jonathan, Andrea, Dennis Lee, Elmer, Phillip, Danny, Lisa, and Duran.  She has 20 great-grandchildren or as she liked to say "too many to count" and many nieces and nephews.

Betty worked and retired from Cushing Memorial Hospital in Leavenworth, KS for over 33 years.  Her favorite pastime was raiding local thrift stores and crocheting but most of all she loved harassing and spending time with all of us.  She would have each of us gather walnuts so she could pick the nuts.

Betty graduated from Metz Missouri High School and the married John F. Ruby.  The rest as they say is history. She will be missed by all. Sail on lovely one.

Betty's service will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel at 531 Shawnee St. Leavenworth Kansas on Thursday February 24, 2022 at 11AM.  Interment is at Leavenworth National Cemetery with a potluck dinner to follow at Davis .
