Obituary

Betty June Sleeper Schermbeck passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was born June 24, 1930, to James Henry and Myrl Vivadell (Sedore) Sleeper. She graduated from Lake Odessa Michigan High School in 1948. She was always proud to claim Michigan as her home state.

In 1975 she married Edward Schermbeck, Jr. He preceded her in death, as did her parents, four
brothers, two sisters, son, Joel Visser, son-in-law Joseph Trusty, and two great-grandchildren. Betty
also wished to acknowledge that she was preceded in death by a very special friend who was like a
sisterto her- Evaline Potter Koutz Macy. Betty is survived by her children: Joan Schermbeck, Nancy
Trusty, Jennelle Visser, Richard Schermbeck (Carla), Joanna Coffey, as well as eight grandchildren:

Steven Trusty, Beth Anne Linstra-Klein, Christopher Schermbeck, Rachael Coffey, Vanessa Reid,
Nathan Coffey, Joshua Coffey, Cody Schermbeck, and thirteen great-grandchildren, plus several nieces
and nephews.

She was preceded by a very special friend, Evaline Potter Kautz Macy, who was like a sister to her.

She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene where she served in many capacities. Betty was
employed at A & P for about seven years.

Betty requested that no flowers be given, but that any donations would go to the Leavenworth
Church of the Nazarene for the building fund, or the organization of your choice.

Visitation will be held on thursday, March 17, 2022 from 8 to 9 A.M. at Church of the Nazarene. Funeral Service will be held at Church of the Nazarene on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 9 A.M. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
