Bonnie J. Simpson, of McLouth, KS passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, unexpectedly at her home.
She was born on March 10, 1932 to Raymond Jones and Roberta Misenhelter. On October 2, 1949. Bonnie was united in marriage to Billy J. Simpson in Leavenworth, KS, a union that lasted just shy of 75 years.
Bonnie was very active in many of her children's activities, as Boy Scout leader, Girl Scout Leader and was active in the PTA at Howard Wilson School. She went to work at Russell's Drug Store, where she was the manager for 8 years. She was a member of the T.O.P.S. group in Tonganoxie, KS since 1985, was a member of the Springdale Homemaker Club for many years: and she also taught 4-H children ceramics.
Bonnie loved doing puzzles and reading in her spare time. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Billy Simpson, McLouth, KS, three sons, Tony Simpson, Nixa, MO, Martin (Mary) Simpson, Leavenworth, KS, Larry Simpson, McLouth, KS, two daughters, Judy (John) Elliott, Dianna (George) Simanowitz, all of Leavenworth, KS, eight grandchildren, Michelle Bachman, Melissa (Shane) Bond, Angela Seber, Jeffrey (Melissa) Simpson, Justin (Shanna) Simpson, Larry Jr. (Jennifer) Simpson, Lori Simpson and Cathy Dowdle. 18 Great- Grandchildren, Jacob and Wyatt Bachman, Gage and Gracelyn Bond, Lexi and Brady Seber, Ryan and Scott Simpson, Nora and Liam Simpson, Keely and Marshal Dohle, Benjamin and Ezkiel Simpson, Kirya Simpson, Terianna Simpson and Karina Simpson and Brandon Schroyer, one great-great grandchild Athyna Rose and one on the way due in September.
Bonnie is proceeded in death by her mother and father a sister, Marilyn Jones, a granddaughter, Kerri Schroyer and a infant grandson Jason Simpson.
Visitation will be 11 A.M. to 12 P.M., Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral will follow at 12 P.M. Burial will be at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
