Bret McLain, age 63, passed away April 17, 2026, in Leavenworth, KS. He was born January 8, 1963, to Randal and Joan McLain; the youngest of three children. Bret graduated from Park Hill High School in 1981 and obtained his HVAC Certification a few years later. He loved the simple things in life, like spending time with family and his childhood friend, Ken, watching The Andy Griffith Show, fishing, grilling, cheering on the Chiefs and Royals, and enjoying a well-cooked meal. He worked at Dolsberry Appliance for 30 years and was well-known there for his great sense of humor and knack for storytelling. Bret was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gina Maddox; and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his children, Jessica Rollison (Brent) and Timothy McLain; his grandchildren, Barett and Harper; his sister, Jill McLain; nieces Sarah, Emily, and Olivia; an aunt, and many uncles and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on May 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. It is suggested that Chiefs or Royals attire be worn to celebrate his love for the two teams. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation in honor of Bret’s father.
