Carol Alice Beck, 91, died Jan. 10, 2025, in Lenexa, Kan.

Carol was born Sept. 23, 1933, the youngest of three children of Gustav and Bernice Larson.

Carol grew up on a farm near Horton and Hiawatha, Kan., and was particularly proud of her rural and Norwegian heritage. She married Earl Dean Beck on Dec. 26, 1952 and became an exemplary mother to three sons.

The family lived in several Kansas communities, including Gardner, Erie and Clay Center. For the next 44 years, Carol lived in Leavenworth, Kan., where she worshipped and served at the Wallula Christian Church.

Carol was a resident of Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kan. for the past 10 years, enjoying and thriving in a supportive community of friends and caregivers.

Carol's joy and legacy was and is her family. She was the consummate homemaker, showing her care and love with delicious meals, an immaculately clean home and cheerful conversation. She was happiest when surrounded by her family.

Carol had a particular heart for those who didn't call attention to themselves, those who needed connection and to be included. And since she was a small child, she loved animals of all kinds.

Ever the supportive and good-natured spouse, Carol traveled, camped and fished with her husband, most often in Bull Shoals, Ark., and Manitoba, Canada.

She was the steady hand in times of trouble. She taught her family by example, and her optimism, values and high standards live on in her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister.

She is survived by her sons, Randell (Linda), Sioux Falls, SD; Lance (Marcia), Olathe, Kan.; Michael (Amy), Wausau, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family wants to thank the caregivers at the Lakeview Village Care Center for their heart for and service to Carol.

Visitation and a memorial service will be Sat., Feb. 15, at Lakeview Village, 9100 Park St., Lenexa, Kan. Visitation will be 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the Eastside Terrace Conference Room. The service will begin at 10 a.m. in the chapel in the Heritage Activity Center.
