Carolyn Marie (Kensbock) Clipston, 86, passed away peacefully January 6, 2024 at Homestead Assisted Living in Leavenworth, KS.  She was born May 1, 1937 in Leavenworth to George and Anna (Haas) Kensbock.

She graduated 8th grade from St. Joseph Catholic School and High School Class of 1955 from Leavenworth High,.  She went to work at Jahn's Grocery Store as a cashier. She met her husband Joseph Clipston at Fort Leavenworth where he was an MP.  They were married July, 15, 1957 and she traveled with him and their 3 children to various duty stations in the U.S. and  a three year tour in Frankfort, Germany. In Between his war duties she returned to Leavenworth with her children working at Jahn's advancing to Customer Service and becoming Non Foods Manager.  She worked at Jahn's until it's closing in 1979.  She then went to work for Hallmark Cards from 1979 to 1984.

Mom and dad enjoyed traveling and went to Hawaii several times and Las Vegas was a favorite vacation spot. Her and dad starting making crafts with dad cutting out and her painting many items.  Her most popular items being wooden tulips and boy/girl swing that hung all over town.  She kept and immaculate house and yard and she was known for her tacos and homemade taco sauce that she would take to the Little Bar for all to enjoy! Christmas time she would make peanut clusters and share them with everyone!

She enjoyed watching her children grow and have their own families.  She hosted all the family holiday dinners making going to Grandma's the norm!  She loved watching KU Basketball and the Chiefs.  Going to the casinos was a favorite activity with the Argosy being her favorite  She volunteered at the  C. W. Parker Carousel Museum on Thursday's as a tour guide. She loved God and her Catholic faith where she attended 4 o'clock mass at St. Joseph Church with her daughter Rhonda by her side.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that will be missed everyday!

Carolyn is survived by her three children: Connie Robinson, Rhonda (Harold) Skaggs and Paul (Vickie) Clipston grandchildren Jeremy Willis, Tammy Scaglione, Aaron (Danielle) Skaggs, Sean Skaggs and Brandi, Alyshia (Patrick) Coughlin, Ashly Clipston, Dylan (Cheyenne) Robinson, Joshua Clipston and great-grandchildren Ayden and Jacinda Scaglione, Aria and Sadie Skaggs and Baker and Harlie Robinson, sister Alice Collins. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph Clipston and her three brothers, George, Bill and Lawrence and their spouses.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Crossroads Hospice and Homestead Assisted Living for keeping mom comfortable in her last days!

Rosary will start at 5 P.M. at Davis Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 15, 2024. Visitation will be 5 - 7 on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Davis Funeral Chapel and Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial following at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Lansing KS.

The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph Church or the C. W. Parker Carousel Museum.
