Cathy Jo Simpson, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2024 at her home in Lansing, Kansas.

She was born on May 10, 1961 in Oakland, California to Ray and Susie Watkins. At a young age she moved to Arkansas where she was raised and later attended Arkansas Tech University. There she met and married Kelly Simpson and the two remained married for about 30 years. She was an avid photographer and loved taking pictures of her two granddaughters. She loved to sew and do all sorts of crafts. Her greatest passion though, was playing with her granddaughters.

Cathy Jo is survived by her only daughter, Jennifer Thomas (Jacob), two grandchildren, Lisa and Sarah, her mother Susie Watkins, two brothers, Rodney (Lisa) and Lance, four nephews and one great-niece.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Genesis Christian Academy in Tonganoxie, KS or to the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday February 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas. Her wishes were to be cremated and there will be no burial or graveside service.
