Cecil Alvin Thrush
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved husband and
father Cecil Alvin Thrush, who left us on July 10 th , 2024, at the age of 80. Born
on December 23, 1943 and after a life richly lived in service and kindness, he
left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know
him. Surrounded by his loving family in his final moments he is sorrowfully
missed. Cecil was a man of immense strength, humor, guidance and loved with
all his heart. Those who knew him loved and cherished him in equal measure.
Cecil leaves a legacy through his loving wife and family Karla Jean Ellis
Thrush, daughter Cynthia Dawn Thrush Chastain-Tong, son Travis Ellis Thrush,
and Regan Parker Thrush.
His legacy will be long remembered through his dearly loved grandchildren
Perry F. Tong (Rani Tong), Zachary Thrush, Benjamin Thrush, Brenley Thrush,
Kiera Thrush, Norah Thrush, Parker Rundell, and Aiden Rundell. He is also
survived by siblings Steve Yates, Stan Yates, Regina Marshall, and Rena'
Kowalewski, and extended family Eddy Field, Lynne Pasqua, and Ken Brandle.
Cecil's memory will be a guiding star for all who knew him. In remembrance, a
gathering will take place on August 30 th 11:00am at Leavenworth National
Cemetery Columbarium, 150 Muncie Road, Leavenworth, KS 66048
We invite contributions to Veterans of Foreign Wars, St. Jude Children's
Hospital, or any Animal Rescue of your choice in, lieu of flowers, to honor
Cecil's legacy.
