Charles Samuel Taylor, a proud veteran and beloved family man, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, at the age of 79. Charles was born in Richmond, California, and lived a life marked by courage, dedication, adventure, and deep love for his family.

A retired member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, Charles served his country with honor as a Green Beret. His military career was a testament to his resilience, leadership, valor, and unwavering commitment to service. Those who served alongside him remember his strength, loyalty, and unshakable calm under pressure.

Charles is survived by his devoted wife, Fumiko Taylor; his son, Michael Taylor; his daughter, Patricia Taylor; and his sister, Brenda Corrie. He was preceded in death by his son, James Taylor, whom he held dearly in his heart.

Beyond his military service, Charles was a man of quiet strength and kindness. He found joy in simple moments and taught those around him the value of perseverance, respect, and humility. He will be remembered as a loving husband, a dedicated father, a loyal brother, and a hero in the truest sense.

A private service will be held with military honors to celebrate his life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a veteran's charity of your choice in Charles's memory.
