Clifford Merton MacGinnis, the son of James MacGinnis and Evelyn Chaffee MacGinnis passed away January 13, 2022.

Born April 21, 1937, in Leavenworth, Kansas, Clifford attended Leavenworth public schools. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958, traveling the world as an aircraft refueling specialist. While in the Air Force, he received his GED.

Before entering the Air Force, Clifford drove his own truck and hauled sand. Following his military service, he worked for Kaaz Construction, and spent most of his career working for the VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas as Maintenance and Operations Foreman, retiring with over 38 years of Federal service in 1993.

He married Linda Cune Burks February 14, 1990, at the VA Medical Center Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas.

He was known for his ability to diagnose, fix or build almost anything. He was continually working on projects ranging from home building to truck restoration. He enjoyed wildlife, all things World War II, and collecting old lanterns. He especially loved watching old John Wayne movies, and episodes of The Twilight Zone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn MacGinnis and brothers James and Wesley MacGinnis, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home and sons Timothy (Kimberly) Burks and Clinton (Traci) Burks, grandchildren Alexandra (Kirby) Morris, Sara (Jeremy) Colquhoun and Nathan (Isabella) Burks and great-grandchildren Cambree and Beckham Morris, Maizie Colquhoun, Charlotte Burks, nephew Wesley MacGinnis, Jr., and best friend Keith Thompson.

Graveside services will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Thursday January 27 ^th , 2022, at 2:30 pm with Pastor Andrew Abbott of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
