Connie Marie Holmes, 62, loving daughter, mother, grandma aka "TeTe", sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away Tuesday March 14, 2023, in Arlington, Tx.
Connie was born August 14, 1960, in Leavenworth, KS. to the loving union of Lonnie A. Holmes and Rosemarie Holmes. She was the third of six children. She was raised most of her life in Leavenworth but resided many years in San Diego, Ca. as a child. She attended Leavenworth High School and growing up belonged to Bethel A.M.E Church.
In 1979, Connie and Griffen Warren welcomed their beautiful daughter into the world, Svonne M. Warren. And from this union in 1985 they welcomed their second beautiful child into the world, a son, Griffen M. Warren.
Connie was a hard-working woman. As a teenager she worked at Hallmark Cards. As an adult she worked as a Correctional Officer for Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), her own contracted cleaning business at Ft. Leavenworth, and she got her CDL license and became a school bus driver for Leavenworth School District for many years. But by far her most cherished job was being a lunchroom monitor at her grandchildren's elementary school in Arlington, Tx. because she got to see them every day.
Connie was a phenomenal mother and grandmother. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren, Kalyssa Gordon-Hay, Angelo Gordon-Hay Jr. "AJ", Griffen Warren Jr. "G3", and Niko Warren were her everything. She loved spending quality time with them watching
movies, laughing, and playing. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her children or grandchildren.
She was such a vital part of their lives. She loved them with every fiber of her being.
Connie was loved and respected by so many people. If she considered you a friend you were more than that, you were family. She was a social butterfly like her father, liked to have fun with family and friends, music, good food(she was a self-proclaimed food connoisseur), taking pictures, washing dishes(hahaha), movies, old TV shows like Perry Mason and westerns(hahaha), playing bid wiz, dancing, going on lunch dates and rides in the ol' school with her son-in-law, sharing stories, laughing and joking with her family and friends.
Connie will be remembered as a beautiful, loving, strong, honest, hardworking, fun, fierce, kind, caring, compassionate, mean what she says, says what she means, woman who was always there for her family and friends. She was truly one of a kind.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Rosemarie, and siblings, Lonnie Jr. and Yvonne.
Connie is survived by her children Svonne(Angelo) Gordon-Hay, Griffen Warren, 4 grandchildren Kalyssa Gordon-Hay, Angelo Gordon-Hay Jr. "AJ", Griffen Warren Jr. "G3", Niko Warren, siblings Pamela Stewart, Donnie Holmes, and Bonnie Holmes, and a host of nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss her but will cherish their memories of her.

Visitation will be 9 to 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 7, 2023 at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be at Mount Muncie Cemetery.
