Constance Kay Schmidt passed away on January 27th, 2022 at her home in Leavenworth, KS. Born with the kindest of souls to David and ElDonna Schmidt in Lawrence, KS on February 16th, 1962. The oldest of five, she left home when she was sixteen to seek out her independence and worked hard her entire life to provide for her family. Constance was the first to help anyone who asked, wherever she may be was followed by the warmth of love and laughter. You could often find Constance in her sandals, and with her little dog Courage, working on her beaded jewelry, caring for her many house plants, or going to thrift shops looking for a good deal. Constance is preceded in death by her parents David Paul Schmidt Sr. and ElDonna Kay Gorden and by her sister Kimberly Lynn Patton. Constance is survived by, and will be forever missed by her three children, Nichole Katherine Henson (Fink), Lance Patrick Fink and wife Brooke, Cody James Filbert and fiance Ellyn. She is also survived by her siblings David Schmidt Jr., Martin Schmidt, and Laura Chicago (Schmidt). She is also survived by numerous loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
