Obituary

Constance Rae Yunghans was born on August 17, 1930 to Arthur J. Stanley and Ruth Willis Stanley in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the third of four sisters, and together, they shared a happy and adventurous childhood. From Kansas City to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to Lake of the Forest, to their home on Leavenworth Road, and all the points in between, the stories abound. Connie graduated from Washington High School in 1949 and married Sherman R. Yunghans later that summer. Together they raised eight children, who gave them a bountiful harvest of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Connie loved and found joy in so many things. She loved horses, dogs, birds, flowers, and children among so many other things. She was active in various community organizations including 4-H, EHU, DAR, and Community Club. Connie was passionate about her faith. Wallula Christian Church and High Prairie Church were places she served and called home

Connie was an avid reader. She was also a walking history book. She loved her God, her family, and her country. She was a wonderful mother, a faithful wife, and a loyal friend. She made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

On February 11th, 2025, Connie left this world to behold the promises she held to all throughout her life. Reunited with her husband, son, parents, sister, and so many family and friends, she is enjoying the rest she so richly deserves. For those of us left behind, she is a shining example of love, grace, steadfastness, and character.

Welcoming Connie are her husband Sherman, her son David Yunghans, and her sister Mary Lou Andrews along with lots of family and friends. Missing her are: her two sisters - Carolyn Lane and Susan Hoffman, her surviving children - Judith Manthe (David Manthe), Zane Yunghans (Teri Yunghans), Bill Yunghans (Carol Yunghans), Laura Porter (Ron Porter), Matt Yunghans (Bonnie Yunghans), Becky Clear (Steve Clear), and Daniel Yunghans as well as nineteen grandchildren and loads of great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished.

She lived well, laughed often, and loved much. Rest in peace Mom.  We love you.
