Darlene Sue Johnson 89, Kansas City passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

She was born July 2, 1932, in Butler Missouri. Darlene married Robert S. Johnson on September 2, 1950, in Eureka Springs, Missouri. Robert proceeded her in death on March 19, 2008.

She was a member at Sunset Hills Christian Church in Kansas City, Kansas, before that Camdenton Christian Church and Grandview Christian Church.

Darlene was an accountant for Schlatter Insurance after her daughters went to school and retired after working for Jardine Insurance Company.

She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, playing cards, and quilting. She continued to have card club, sewing club and any other reason to cook…

She was proceeded in death by husband Robert S. Johnson, parents Howard Jasper Francis and Mildred Lucelle (Yockey) Francis and her sister Jolane Mae Older.

Survivors include three daughters: Christine Whorton (Dennis), Judy Genola (Charles) and Cheryll Poje (Robert). Sister Kay Minda.

Darlene has 10 grandchildren, Alan (Jill) Poje, Sara Poje, Tracy (L.J.) Dickens, Kerry (AJ) Hamel, Russell (Eliz) Dempsey, Nathan (Amanda) Dempsey, Joshua (Tiffany) Dempsey, Michael Whorton, Marion (Keri) Whorton and Jeffery Whorton; 20 great grandchildren, 9 nieces and 1 nephew.

Funeral service will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will follow the funeral service from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Memorials may be given to Brookdale Hospice.
