Deanna Berg, 83, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born July 9, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Hoebert and Angielidah Barnes and was raised by her father and stepmother, Sissy. She was the second of three siblings. She attended high school before becoming a bookkeeper at a cement company in Louisville.

She met her husband of 58 years while on a double date. She was united in Holy Matrimony with Lieutenant George Berg on December 19, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky. Their love resulted in six children and four grandchildren. George preceded her in death on January 27, 2017.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Wood (SP. John), Joseph Berg (SP. Sandra), John Berg, Margaret Berg (SP. Oleg), Matthew Berg (SP. Pamela), and Chloe Berg.

Deanna was raised as a Southern Baptist before converting to Catholicism later in her life.

In 1984, She and her family moved to Leavenworth, Kansas, and became members of Sacred Heart/St. Casimir parish. In her life, Deanna enjoyed reading and writing letters to her family. Her biggest joy in life was raising her children.

Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, August 13th, at 10 o'clock in the morning. Burial will follow at Easton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sacred Heart Church.
