Obituary

Debra "Debi" Jean Foster (Ingerson)
December 29, 1957 – April 29th, 2025
Debra "Debi" Jean Foster (Ingerson), 67, of Tonganoxie, Kansas passed away on April 29th 2025,
surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 29, 1957, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to
Edward E. Ingerson and Cleo M. Ingerson (Smith).
Debi was one of five children and spent her childhood in Leavenworth County. She graduated from
Tonganoxie High School in 1975. That same year, she met the love of her life, David L. Foster. They were
united in marriage on March 20, 1976, in Jarbalo, Kansas, and together built a life full of love, family, and
cherished memories.
An avid athlete, Debi played competitive fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball with her sisters and family, often
traveling across multiple states for tournaments. She was also a dedicated league bowler in the
Leavenworth area. After her playing days ended, she continued to share her passion for sports by
coaching her children, nieces, and nephews.
Debi gave back to her community as a 4-H leader with the Green Promise 4-H Club for several years and
worked seasonally at Santa Surplus. Above all, she was a devoted homemaker and caretaker who gave
selflessly to her family. Her home was always open, and her heart was always full.
She will be remembered for her kindness, fierce loyalty, and the unconditional love she gave to all who
knew her.
Debi was a God-loving woman whose heart overflowed with love for her husband, children, and
grandchildren. She had a gift for turning a house into a warm, welcoming home—not just for her family,
but for anyone who needed a place to feel loved and accepted. For Debi, family was always the number
one priority. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the love she so freely gave.
Debi is survived by her two children Jennifer (Charles) Wood & John (Zaydie) Foster. Grandchildren
Kaitlyn (Paul), Greg (Jacky), Gracey, Logan, Wyatt, Sutton, Elias and her great granddaughter Saylor
Jean. Siblings Ed (Becky) Ingerson, Judy (Jim) Glenn, Ted (Debbie) Ingerson and countless nieces and
nephews etc.
She was preceded in death by her husband David, her parents Cleo & Edward, her sister Elvira, and her
nephews Michael, Robin, Joel and her sister in law Treatha Foster.
Visitation will be held Monday May 5th 2025 at the Davis Funeral Chapel at 11am with Funeral taking
place at 1pm. Graveside services will follow directly after at fall creek cemetery.
In honor of Debi's favorite color, the family invites all who attend the services to wear any shade of
purple—a color that brought her joy and now serves as a symbol of the love she shared so freely
