Debra Anne
Grant
Aug 9, 1961 — Jun 23, 2024
Debra Ann Dixon-Grant, 62, passed on to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 23, 2024 after a lengthy illness.
Debra was born on 9 August 1961 in Leavenworth Kansas to mother, Jessie Logan and step-father, Freddie Logan. She was the 10th of 12 children.
She attended and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1980. She then went to work at the Fort Leavenworth Public Library until she met and married her husband Laurence Grant. She then moved to Fort Benning, Georgia and remained there for several years. She returned to Leavenworth and began working for the Fort Leavenworth Housing Authority.
Debra was an extrovert and loved being on the go to social activities and having a good time with family and friends. She enjoyed the Casino and playing games on her phone and attending all of her grandkids functions. She also loved watching Lifetime movies and cooking food her mother used to cook (fried cabbage, neckbone soup, sweet potato pie). Debra was a very unselfish person and was always willing to help those in need. Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren more than life itself (especially the grandchildren). She had a very beautiful and kind spirit and you always felt it when you were in her presence. Don't get it twisted though, she wasn't a pushover by any means and would "read you" if she needed to, but all in love! If you knew her in this lifetime, you were blessed. You will not forget her.
Debra attended Independent Baptist Church and always had a word to say of how the Lord was working in her life and she always kept the faith. Even in the most painful times in her life, she never lost her faith in God.
Debra was preceded in death by her Mother and Step-father; Sisters, Sylvia Wyche and Norma Griffin; Niece, Anjeanette Bailey; Aunt, Callie Howard and Sister-in-Law, Lanie Griffin.
She is survived, and will be deeply missed, by her Daughters; Latisha Dixon, Patrice (Antonio) Dangerfield and Marketta Grant. Her beloved grandchildren; Matavia Wash, De'Aire McNeal, Kier (Steven) Long, Jayla Grigsby, Tamia Grant, Tre'vion Grant, Kamar Wash, Dominique Burgin Jr. , Kavon Long and soon to arrive. a great grand baby girl. Sisters; Carolyn Griffin-Clark, Lorraine Griffin, Patricia Johnson and Rosalee Logan. Brothers; Nollie (Angela) Griffin, Leroy Griffin, Jr., Thomas (Karen) Griffin, Richard Dixon and J.S. (Renell) Dixon. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were a part of her life. Also, very special people in her life that loved her like family; Dennis Jackson and Lori Carrell.
