Dennis Fay Nixon, 87, Lansing, Kansas. The Lord called Dennis February 15, 2026. Dennis is now in his heavenly home. What a blessing.

Dennis was born March 3,1938 to Ira and Iva Tarman Nixon. He moved to Leavenworth in the middle 1950's in an old pickup truck. Dennis's dad held many jobs while his mom worked in nursing at Cushing Hospital.

Dennis loved music, dancing, mechanics and exploring everything he could do. Home and family were a priority to him.

Out of high school Dennis received his carpenter cabinet making license and worked for Kaaz Construction.

After deciding he wanted to explore more, he followed his dad's electrician work;

He set off to a 42-year span of being a construction high voltage electrician with Capital Electric Construction Co.

Dennis was always referred to as the best and all the guys highly respected him.

Dennis led all the lighting at K.C.I.  airport. What a challenge!

Later in life,1984, Dennis Met the love of his life, Diane Swartz. They have spent forty some years laughing, traveling, family togetherness and worshiping together.

He leaves behind his wife Diane, also Kathy (Charlie), Jake and Justin, Todd (Trish), Samatha Keegan), Oliver and Beau and Lexi, Renee (Scott) Wyatt, also many nieces and nephews and loads of friends.

Sadness and joy will forever fill our hearts as we bless him and he will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Not goodbye, but so long I will see you soon. LOVE!

Graveside service will be held at 2 P.M Friday, March 13,2026 at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Lansing, KS. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to High Prairie Church, 26480 187th Street, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
