Obituary

Donald (Donnie) Wayne Logan, 92, passed away September 17, 2026, at Easton Healthcare Center in Easton, Kansas. He was born on December 29, 1933, in Leavenworth, Kansas to Clyde and Dora (Flint) Logan. He married Betty Jane Ligenza on August 18, 1962, in Leavenworth, Kansas. Betty Jane passed away on September 27, 2001.

Donnie worked on the Kickapoo family farm for many years in his youth. Often plowing the fields with a team of horses. Always a hard worker, he began a career at Leavenworth Steel as a welder and worked there until the business shutdown. Shortly after that he started what was probably his most favorite job of all. He was a custodian at MacArthur Elementary School at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas and tremendously enjoyed his friendships with the teachers and staff. After many years at school, Donnie retired early to take care of Betty Jane. Donnie was also a volunteer for the Kickapoo Township Fire Department for many years. Coon hunting, talking on the CB radio and mushroom hunting were his passions. His CB handles were Steelcutter and Kansas 45. He built a lifetime of friendships with his CB buddies and had endless entertaining coon hunting stories. But most of all, his devotion to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was like no other. They were his world.

Donnie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jane, parents, Clyde and Dora Logan, sisters Darlene Parr and Carol Mull, and Logan brothers, Robert (Bob), Roland (Dink), and Gerald (Jud).

Survivors include daughter, Pam (Les) Klaus, Leavenworth, Kansas, daughter, Lori Logan and Mike, Winchester, Kansas and son, Steve (Shauna) Logan, Leavenworth, Kansas.
