Donna Marie (Morandy) Burge, age 63, of Leavenworth, KS passed away on June 21, 2024, at St. John's Hospital after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on July 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m to noon.
Born to Beverly Dodson and Orval Morandy in Leavenworth, KS, Donna attended Leavenworth High School, where she met the love of her life, Kenneth L Burge Jr. They married in 1979 and shared a beautiful life together, blessed with two wonderful sons, Kenneth L Burge III and Matthew R Burge.
Donna had a compassionate heart and a deep desire to help others. She dedicated many years in her first career at St. John's Hospital as a cardio/pulmonary technician. Later moving into the field of hemodialysis as a patient care technician for 22 years where she touched countless lives with her kindness and expertise. During this time, she had earned her bachelor's degree in business administration.
A loving mother, nana, sister, friend and caregiver, Donna's joy for life was evident in everything she did. She cherished her family deeply, finding immense joy in spending time with them, whether she was gardening, binge watching her favorite shows in her comfy robe, collecting stanley cups, or shopping for her beloved grandbabies. Donna's love for life and her infectious laughter brought light to everyone around her.
Donna is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth L Burge Jr of Leavenworth; her sons Kenneth L Burge III, his wife Kimberley M Burge and their daughters Natalie M Burge and Aubrie L Burge, all of Leavenworth; and Matthew R Burge, his wife Tricia D Burge, and their children Maysen R Burge and Ashlyn E Burge , all of Yukon, OK. She is also survived by her siblings Linn Langston of Cascade, Colorado; Janet Langley of Chandler, Arizona; Pamela Prusha of Leavenworth, KS; and Michael Morandy of Leavenworth, KS, along with 13 cherished nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Beverly Dodson and Orval Morandy.
In honor of Donna's fighting spirit and enduring love of others, the family requests that any charitable donations be made to support cancer research via- donate.cancer.org.
