Dore L.
Lusignan
Mar 6, 1961 — Jun 28, 2026
Dore Lou Lusignan died unexpectedly on June 28, 2026. She was born March 6, 1961, in Dearborn, MI.
She was the third child and only daughter of Howard and Beverly Hinde. Dore often said she considered her mom to be her best friend and they’re no doubt catching up over a long-overdue cup of coffee. She was known for “letting you know how she felt” about any subject of discussion.
Dore grew up in Lansing, KS, and graduated in 1979 from Lansing Rural High School. The family briefly lived in Branson, Mo.
Dore met Bob Lusignan at the home of his sister and they were married in Miami, OK. Dore and Bob
raised Jamie at the “Old Delaware Schoolhouse” in Lansing, where they made their home for many years.
In 2009, the Lusignans moved to Parkville, Mo.
Dore and Bob shared a love of traveling, motorcycle rides, and sharp cars. Dore loved baking and at Christmas time she shared that talent with family and friends. Dore enjoyed bowling for many years, and was a member of the Women’s League at Crown Bowl in Leavenworth, KS. She and Bob also enjoyed their monthly Dinner Club get-togethers with Dore’s high school friends.
While still in high school, she began working at the Pharmacy at the Leavenworth VA then became one of the first employees of the VA’s Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) working her way through the ranks until she retired in 2016 as Logistics Manager. Dore and Bob’s favorite things included their family: Jamie and Darrell Dressler, their six children; Sean Gibson, and his five children; a great-grandchild expected in January; brother, Howard (Howie) Hinde, of Council Bluffs, IA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dore was preceded in death by her father, mother, and a brother, Jon Hinde.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 3:30 p.m., Sept. 12, 2026, at the Calvary Baptist Church,
Leavenworth. Friends and family are welcome to share their memories and a meal at that time.
Memorials may be made to the Lansing High School’s Alumni Association Scholarship Fund (note for Dore Lou Lusignan), Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter, or CASA of Leavenworth.
