Doris Lee Arnold passed away on February 14, 2023.
Doris was the daughter of Carl & Bertha (Birdie) Ewert Dietrich and was born and raised in Leavenworth, Kansas. During World War 2, she lived in Pueblo, Colorado and was one of the first woman weather forecasters in the United States. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill L. Arnold January 25, 1945. He died in 2003. She had 2 children, Kathy & Gail. She retired from Patton Junior High School, Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. Doris & Bill spent their retirement living in Leavenworth and South Padre Island as well as traveling. She moved to Sugar Land, Texas in 2010 and began a new full life there. She was always a gracious hostess who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She cherished moments spent with loved ones.
She is survived by daughters Kathy Smith of Lawrence, Ks and Gail Hicks (husband Toby) of Rosenberg, Texas. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Brian Smith, Jessa Froebe, Brent Behrens, and Amy Behrens, and 8 great grandchildren, Elsie Smith, Rachel Behrens, Skyler Johnson, Allie Behrens, Emmaleen Smith, Deen Smith, Abigail Collins, and Jaylee Froebe.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. Funeral service will Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
