Dwight Edward Sandahl, Jr., 86, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on August 14, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital.

Dwight was born on January 4, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas to Dwight Edward Sandahl, Sr. and Catherine Powers Sandahl. He married Gwendolyn Sue (Launer) Sandahl on August 10, 1963 at Western Highland Church. This union lasted 61 years.

Dwight graduated from Washington High School, KCK and Pittsburg University with a master's degree. He obtained many awards from Pioneer Seed Company as a salesman. He taught school for 23 years in KCK (Coronado and Arrowhead Jr. High). Dwight owned Uhlrich Oil Company with his wife and sold Pioneer Seed. He also worked for the Turnpike as tollbooth person.

Dwight resided in Kansas City, Kansas and Leavenworth, Kansas throughout his life. Dwight was on the Elder Board and Building and Grounds Board at High Prairie Church.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Gwen in Leavenworth, Children, Cynthia Sue Sandahl and Frank Edward and Cambry Sandahl, grandchildren, Cody Glen Sandahl and Cheyenne Catherine Sandahl, great-grandchild, Adalynn Marie Sandahl.

Dwight is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at High Prairie Church from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Funeral will follow at 11 A.M. at High Prairie Church. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be given to High Prairie Church. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
