Eleanor Louise (Camp) Denney, 84, entered eternal life Thursday, February 13, 2025, just three days before her 85th birthday.

Eleanor was born to Anson and Eunice (Moore) Camp.  She married Donald F. Denney December 8, 1956, at the tender age of 16 and survives her.  To their union they brought three children: Joey (Janice) of Leavenworth; Duane (Katie) of Leavenworth; and Dawn (Jeff) Monroe of Leavenworth.  She is also survived by six grandchildren: Mike (Tessa) Denney, Michelle (Ignacio) Nelson, Lauryn (Wil) Gorby, Mitchell Denney, Amanda (Derek) Warden and Blaine (Jill) Monroe; five great-grandchildren: George, Fletcher, Pierce, August, and Maeve; and her sister-in-law Judi Camp.

Eleanor attended schools in Leavenworth and California.  She resided in Long Beach, CA, while her husband was deployed with the US Navy.  She worked in retail sales several years while raising her family and operated Denney's Antiques and Collectibles.  She loved sewing and fashioned clothes for all her grandchildren.  She also made and sold dolls outfits to go along with her impressive doll collection.  She also collected Angels, Longaberger baskets, teddy bears, buttons, art made by her grandchildren and many other items precious to her.  Her craftiness extended to quilting, candle-making, cross-stitch, and flower gardening.

She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Leavenworth.  In 2002, as part of a small group Bible Study, Eleanor helped establish a community-wide Thanksgiving meal, which in conjunction with a name picked by her grandson became the 7th Street Feast.  It continues to have a lasting impact in the community now offering a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal to 1,700 people and involves numerous churches, businesses, and organizations in the area.

Visitation will be Monday, February 17 at 9:30 a.m. prior to the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Both will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Leavenworth, where their journey together began.  The family invites you to join them immediately following the funeral to share memories at a luncheon in the church basement where the traditional Denney family meal will be served.

Memorial contributions can be made to Paul's Buffet, 7th Street Feast and a scholarship fund or students at St. Paul Lutheran School.
