Francis LeRoy Kilgore, 86, rural Leavenworth County, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022. Francis was born September 2, 1936, in Ozark, Arkansas, the son of Roy and Hattie Kilgore.

He graduated from Potter High School in 1953. He then served a two year term in the US Navy, where he was an aircraft mechanic on a USS carrier. He married Joyce (Fitzpatrick) Kilgore on February 22, 1963. He retired from Lansing Correctional Facility after working over 25+ years. Farming and raising show cattle were his life passion and hobby.

He is survived by one daughter Julie L. Kilgore, two sons Steven F. Kilgore and Tim S. Kilgore, six Grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; three nephews James, John, and Jerry Kilgore; three cousins David Wilburn, Sue Mulvaney and Mary Jo Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joyce; one brother James Kilgore, and two cousins Audiene Pennington and Virginia Herken.

Visitation will be 5 to 6 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2022, at Davis Funeral Chapel. Memorial service will follow at 6 P.M. Burial will be at a later date.
