Frank Joseph Meyers passed away at home on Thursday, July 14, 2022. He was born on April
21, 1946 to Frank and Bernice (Kochanowski) Meyers, Sr. in Leavenworth Kansas. He attended
Sacred Heart school and graduated from Immaculata High School. Frank enlisted in the US
Navy and served in Vietnam. He married Nancy Novotney in 1972 and joined the US
Department of State. Over his 25 year career he served in Dakar, Senegal, Leningrad, Russia,
Warsaw, Poland, Lome, Togo, Bonn, Germany, Bangkok, Thailand, and Washington, DC. He
retired in 1997 and returned to live in Leavenworth in 2002.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Tiffany, son Travis, two grand-daughters, Loren and
Jenna Suite, Uncle Leon Kochanowski, cousins, and several nieces and nephews. He was
preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, Tim and Chuck.
Frank was a 4 star athlete in High School and was very proud of his 2 State Championship
Titles in track. He loved all sports and enjoyed following the Royals, KU basketball and Chiefs.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Gravesite service will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 20, 2022
at 9:00 am.
