Obituary

Gayle Deanne (Lynn) Moore, 69, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on January 6, 2021 after battling congestive heart disease.

Gayle was born on June 20, 1951 to Joseph Lynn and Eunice (Andreson) in Kansas City, Missouri.  In 1969, she graduated from Truman High school in Independence, Missouri.  After graduation, she married Michael Chambers in 1970, followed by the birth of two sons (Kevin and Eric) in the coming years.  The family relocated to Gardner, Kansas in 1977.

After divorcing in 1986, Gayle moved to Leavenworth, Kansas.  There she met David Moore and they were wed in 1988.  She worked more than twenty years as a pharmacy technician at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center, where she enjoyed the opportunity to serve veterans each day.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Leavenworth, where she loved worshiping Jesus Christ, serving with friends, and singing in the choir.  She also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, board games, and playing cards (never missing a lively game of family Pinochle or Nerts).  Her kind heart and fun-loving spirit will be missed.

Gayle was preceded in death by her father Joseph Lynn, her mother Eunice (Andreson) Lynn, and her second husband David Moore.  She is survived by her sister Patricia (Lynn) Brabbin; brother Hans Lynn;  first husband Michael Chambers, and their two sons, Kevin Chambers and his wife Brandi, Eric Chambers and his wife Elizabeth; nieces Jenny and Jamie; nephew Jake; grandchildren Katelynn, Taylor, Sarah, Alexis, Karen, and Peter; and great-grandchildren Seeley, Melody, and Nova.

Gayle will be laid to rest at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in a private family ceremony.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation (www.garysinisefoundation.org) to help our veterans.
