Gene A Mullins, Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on August 26, 2020 at North Kansas City Hospital. He was 83 years old.

Gene was born in 1936 to Lela (Duery) and Jesse Mullins. He did farm work as a young man on Fredrick's farm. He served in the United States Navy for six years.

He made a living as a painter.  He belonged to the International Union of Painters. He enjoyed reading, always learning and he listened to the radio daily. He met and visited with many people on his daily walks. Several became friends who would go fishing with him. He was much loved by all his little nieces and nephews as he loved all the little ones.

His nicknames speak volumes, Rembrandt, Mr. Clean, and Sneakin.

He is survived by his son Robert Mullins, one brother Charles and Janice Mullins, two sisters Wilma Reed and Lois Nelson Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley (Steinbach) Mullins in 1996 and two sisters Jessie Mullins and Julia Mabe.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 2 ^nd , 2020 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee St, Leavenworth, Kansas.

Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Hospital.
