Glenn R. Schuler, 84, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on Dec. 21, 2023. Glenn was born on December 4, 1939 in Atchison, Kansas. He was one of nine children born to Wilfred "Butch" Schuler and Lela (Copeland) Schuler. He grew up on the family farm outside of Nortonville, Kansas. Glenn graduated from Nortonville High school in 1958 and Emporia State University with a degree in education in 1962.

Glenn married Judy Towner on December 27, 1962. They made their home in Easton, Kansas, until their recent move to Shawnee. Glenn taught business and was a coach at Easton High School for nine years. He then taught at Immaculata High School for two years. He exited the teaching profession and began working for Easton Bus Service and worked as a school bus salesman until his retirement on Dec.31, 2005.

Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife, grandson Kyle, his parents and five siblings (Claire, Carl, Rita Ostgren, Sharon and Melvin). He is survived by his children, Karen Schroeder (Ted), David (Kelly), Keith (Kris) and Doug, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his siblings Alan (Joanne), Paul (Pat) and Dennis (Elaine).

Glenn was a devoted husband and father. He easily made friends wherever he went and will be missed by many. Glenn was known for his happy personality, his dancing at family weddings and always wanting to help others (especially his children). He enjoyed hunting and fishing and taught his children to enjoy the outdoors as well. He had several hunting dogs over the years, who were also his companions, and he had a soft spot for animals.

A private memorial service will be held in the spring.

The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas, for their wonderful care of Dad when he was with Karen and her family and later at Hospice House. Memorial contributions can be made in honor of Glenn to Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice.
