Friday, May 24, 2024 Harold aka Jimmy Fidler took his last and final road trip to rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior.

Born January 12, 1932, in East Berlin, PA to Kathryn (Bosserman) and Wilmer Fidler, he was the second child of Six siblings. After graduating high school, he entered military life in September 1949 to serve his country and chose the Air Force after being told he would work 4 days on three days off-that didn't happen. On September 5, 1952 he married Edith Marie aka Ree Allison, also lovingly known as Tiger three months after dating. As the duty stations changed so did the growth of the family. While stationed in Tripoli, Libya daughter number one was born, daughter number two came along while stationed in Lubbock, TX and daughter number three came along while stationed at Mather AFB in California. His last duty station was Fort Leavenworth where he retired in 1972. His parents and wife and several siblings have gone ahead. His daughters are Lou (Barry) McLeod-Leavenworth, KS. Kathy (Roger) Stirling-Boone, IA and Donna (David) Grygierczyk-Knob Noster, MO. In 1972 he relocated back to the Sacramento area where he resided for 49 years before moving back to Kansas in December 2021.

Following his Air Force career, he went into Civil Service at McClellan AFB under the squadron of 2852 SPS. He enjoyed playing cards, watching TV and mowing but his true love was golf; where he had his one and only hole in one and traveling to see friends and family. He was always planning another road trip. He was actively driving up until September 2023. He has had many Tuesday night half price Sonic burgers over the years. Other interesting tidbits he was the first to know when Air Force One would be landing even before the higher ups were aware. He was on Air Force One a time or two. Passed down to him was a baseball that Jim Thorpe-former olympian-was tossing around with a group of guys many years back.

Besides leaving behind his three girls and son-in-law's he has an older brother Carl Fidler and younger sister Jean Zeigler who reside in PA. His grandchildren are: Becki (Garry) Olson Jennifer (Jamie) Black, Damian (Becky) Southerland, Justin (Brittany) Grygierczyk, Donise (Nick) Petersen. His great-grandchildren are Jeremy and Christopher McLeod, Tyrease Richards, Colby and Kaden-Paul Klingensmith and David and Parker Southerland, Evan Black, Damian and Donovan Grygierczyk, Landon and Colton Petersen and many nieces and nephews,

When asked what he did for a living his response was: Attitude adjuster. When asked when his birthday was, he would state January 12th when asked what year he would say every year.
