Obituary

James Allen Hintz, Sr., age 85, of Leavenworth, Kansas; passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 8:51 AM.

James was born to George Edward & Verda Hintz, Sr. on August 9, 1938. Born in Leavenworth, Kansas. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. He married Carolyn Jean Barnett on February 2, 1963.

James is preceded in death by his wife; Carolyn Jean Hintz, Grandson - Jared Hintz (son of: James & Angela Hintz, Jr), Parents: Goerge Edward & Verda Hintz Sr., Brother: Goerge Edward (Sonny) Hintz Jr., Sister: Delores Jean Johnson, Step-Father: James Walter White. James has two living brothers: David Hintz and Danny Hintz and one living sister: Judy Richards.


He is survived by his children, James A. Hintz Jr. (Wife: Angela), Sheila (Hintz) Rodriguez (Husband: Jose), and Esther (Hintz) Elliott (Husband: Larry); grandchildren Krista (Hintz) Bergmeier, Ethan Hintz, Timothy Hintz, Dwayne Kaylor, Michelle Dwire, Desiree Seber, Damien Elliott and Jason Elliott, great-grandchildren Lillian Bergmeier, Raven Bergmeier, Rory Seber, Willow Seber, Cash Seber, Parker Seber, Aiden Elliott, Alessa Elliott, Hayley Elliott, Kaya Elliott, Hiname Elliott, Emma Elliott, Nevaeh Knight, Ayla Foster, April Mae Hintz.


After graduating Lansing High School, he attend bible college at Grace and Glory Bible School in Kansas City, Missouri. He also attended Gleaner Bible School there after. While in bible school he studied to become a minister for the Kingdom of God.


Next to his relationship with Jesus; Carolyn was the love of his life. His children James Jr., Sheila, and Esther; were the sparkle in his eyes and legacy of his unwavering love for Christ and family. He had a very strong passion to be a testimony for Jesus in sharing the message of love and grace as exampled for us in the Holy Bible.


Memorial contributions can be made to Disabled American Veterans.


Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 5 to 7 P.M. Funeral service will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Thursday August 31, 2023 at Noon. Burial service will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
