James (Jim) A Meyer, 67, Ferrelview, Mo resident James (Jim) A Meyer, 67, died October 28, 2020.

James was born May 1, 1953, in Leavenworth, KS, to Fred and Hazel Meyer.

James had a passion for many things.  As a younger man, James (handle: Cisco) spent countless hours on his CB Radio talking to friends and strangers near and far.  James was a member of the "Prison City" CB Radio Group.  James also loved music and in his early 20's played guitar with the Youth For Christ Band. James graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1973. For many years James was a cook at local restaurants, to include Santa Fe Depot and Victory Junction, just to name a few.  Later in life James would take his granddaughters to some of these local restaurants to enjoy their company, hear all about their lives and relish some of his favorite dishes.  James never met a stranger.

James met Peggy Hitchcock in 1974 while he was working at Griff's Burger Bar.  While their relationship wouldn't last forever, James and Peggy remained close until the day he departed. As close friends, they raised their two children, Jamie and Caleb.  James was also involved and helped raise Peggy's daughters from a previous marriage, Shanon Jacob and Raena Hitchcock, as well as their children and grandchildren.

James was married to Debbie Clark and had two daughters from that marriage, Jessica and Amanda Meyer.

In 2006, James met Vicky, the last love of his life.  James and Vicky were married on December 13, 2014.    Vicky had two children from a previous marriage, Michelle and Stacy Benson, who James loved as his own.   James and Vicky made a home together in Ferrelview, Mo.

James's loved his dogs, Chubs and Lady and he often looked forward to seeing them when he would arrive home from long stays for chemo treatments in the hospital.

James worked for the City of Farrelview for several years.  Earlier this year James joined the Board of Directors for the City of Farrelview and also served as the Water Commissioner, a responsibility he took very seriously.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Hazel Meyer and daughter Jessica Meyer.

He is survived by his loving wife Vicky Lair Meyer and children, Jamie Meyer (and wife Kelly and their two children Macei and Sadey Meyer), Caleb Meyer (and wife Gwenna and their two children Gavan and Gabriella), brother Bob (Margret) Meyer, sisters Marilyn (Bill) Riker, Janelle (Tim) Bucher and Cheryl (Mike) Bogner.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 7th, 2020 from 12-2pm with a memorial service immediately following.  All friends and family are welcome to attend, share memories and remember James.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to First Judicial District CASA Assoc.
