Janet Lynn Westbrook, 65, Leavenworth, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday Dec. 31, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Groom, TX to John and Jane Nelson.

She graduated from Burkburnett High School, Burkburnett, TX. She met and married George Westbrook in 1974. Together they raised 3 children. Janet spent 20 years as an Army wife. She worked for many years serving Ft. Leavenworth school children in both Eisenhower and MacArthur Elementary Schools. She went to work for the Leavenworth District Court and retired in 2019 as the Clerk of the District Court for Leavenworth County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Jane Nelson.

Janet is survived by her husband of 46 years, George Westbrook. She also leaves behind daughter, Kimberly Ayala-Pagan (Carlos), Kansas City, MO; son, Craig Westbrook, St. Joseph, MO; and daughter, Jessica Rogers (Bradley), Kansas City, MO. She cherished her 8 grandchildren, Tyler, Rylan, Everley, Audrey, Emily, Brennen, Garrett, & Xavier and 1 great- granddaughter, Sawyer. Also survived by her brother, Jerry Nelson (Carolon) Dickinson, TX.

Janet loved Texas, bluebonnets, chocolate, Pepsi, and Sonic ice. She was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.

Visitation will be Jan 7, 2021 from 10- noon with services to follow at Davis Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, KS.
