Jay Edward Kennett of Leavenworth, Kansas passed in the early morning of September 8, 2020, from a WWE showdown gone wrong, (or that's what he'd like us to think anyway).

Jay served in the U.S. Army for 14 years, he was stationed in various cities here and throughout Europe. Jay worked as a military policeman, although, he'd love to convince you he was special ops sniper to anyone who'd listen. Jay had spent the last few years assisting veterans and their families get the health, disability, and financial benefits they earned. He loved the opportunity to help others and hear their stories, Jay was quick to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

In his free time, he spent a great deal with family and friends, but mostly spoiling his grandchildren, it's what he did best. Jay was the life of the party. He was loud, funny, an avid storyteller, an expert on dirty jokes, a great cook, and held a heart of gold. He shared far too many dad jokes, inappropriate internet memes, and enjoyed screaming at the TV when the Pittsburg Steelers were losing. He was known for his long, entertaining stories, which he loved to repeat often.

Jay was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just a few weeks ago, and it took a rapid turn for the worst leading to his death. He was 61 years old, he passed surrounded by his family.

Although he led a less than average life span, Jay did not live an average life. He traveled where he wanted to travel, laughed inappropriately at every chance, learned what he wanted to learn, fixed what he wanted to fix, and loved who he wanted to love.

Jay was born in Lancaster, New Hampshire on October 17th of 1958 to his parents Corinne and Bernard Kennett. He is survived by his wife Penny Barber; his children: Joshua Kennett, Justin Kennett, Samantha Kennett; his stepchildren: Elijah Atkinson, Zack Barber; his grandchildren: Isaiah, Levi, Jade, and Winter. Jay was born into a big family, though he is survived by many siblings, he has now accepted an offer quite far away. His new position will allow him to meet and rejoice with loved ones he hasn't seen in a very long time.

Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Jay's life in their own way. Unlike previous times, this is not a ploy to avoid creditors or old girlfriends. He assures us that he is gone. He will be greatly missed [so very much].
