John W. Allen Sr., 72, Leavenworth, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was born February 5, 1949 in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Harold Allen and Ruby Thompson. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marines in 1972 having served as a sergeant. He then worked at Lone Star Industries and later worked at the VA Medical Center and retired from there in 2012. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling for many years. He also loved going to the Royals games and the T-Bones.

He loved auctions and estate sales. He ran his estate sale business for number of years.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother Jimmy. Survivors include his wife Dianna; son, John Allen, Jr. (Melissa), daughters Karen Stephens (Shannon), Becky Bridges (John), Carol Goodman (Pattie), Jennifer Allen and step-son Jeffrey Jones (Michelle), 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

There will be visitation at Davis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
