Obituary

John Allen Wilk, "Sloride" 56, Passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Kansas University with his wife by his side. He was born in Leavenworth, Kansas on September 10, 1964 to father Herbert Eugene Wilk and mother Janice Ann Jones, they preceded him in death.

On September 14, 2001, he married Karen, she survives at home. John is also survived by daughters, Ashley and Megan Roller, sister Tammy (Gene) Anders, nephews Sam & Steven Anders.
John graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1983 and then went to Vo-Tech.
In John's earlier years, he enjoyed playing football, softball, going to car shows and just hanging out with his friends.
John worked for years building cabinets. He designed and built entertainment centers for several homes in Kansas City including for a Kansas City Chiefs player. He also worked at the Leavenworth Water Department, Leavenworth Wastewater treatment plant and was a dispatcher for the Leavenworth Police Department.
He medically retired after beating cancer (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia) in 2012. His motto that kept him going during his cancer : "I am too young, too ornery and still have too many people to tick off".
John loved riding his Harley, going to NASCAR Races, judging BBQ competitions and camping with his wife, family & friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Davis Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 AM Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.

Masks and social distancing are highly encouraged.
