John Wayne Clark, 73, passed away on June 25, 2025, in Oneida, Kansas. Born February 18, 1952, to John William Clark, (father) and Vernedith M. (mother) and Carlton R. Richardson, (stepfather). in Leavenworth, Kansas, John dedicated his life to family, country, and the pursuit of activities he loved.
A proud veteran, John honorably served the United States Navy, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer before his retirement. During his extensive naval career, he attended rigorous military training schools specializing as a Master of Arms, Dog Handler, and Aviation Electronics technician. John's selfless commitment earned him multiple recognitions, including the Navy Commendation Award, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy Good Conduct Award, and the National Defense Service Medal. His dedicated service extended to active duty during the Vietnam conflict, where he proudly defended our country.
John found peace and happiness outdoors, sharing his joy for deer hunting, bow hunting, and fishing. A determined sportsman, his prowess extended equally to martial arts, where he achieved the respected rank of Black Belt. John also had a gift for small engine repair, frequently helping family, friends, and neighbors by bringing their motors back to life.
Preceded in death by his beloved siblings, sisters Mabel Littrice and Alice Jane Smith, and brothers, Dwight Richardson, Anthony Richardson and James Clark.
John leaves behind fond memories held dear by his children: John Clark (Horton, KS), Wayne Clark (Leavenworth, KS), Katrice Clark (Dallas, TX), Miracle Clark (Kansas City, MO), Johnathan Harvey (Atchison, KS), brother, Joseph E. Clark (Debbie) Leavenworth, KS, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and close friends.
Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel on Thursday July 10, 2025 from 9 to 10 A.M. Funeral service will begin at 10 A.M. at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
