JOHN W GUY, (Johnny or Papa Guy), 74 years old, passed away Saturday, September 27. 2025 in Leavenworth, Kansas,
John was born on August 17, 1951 to Helen Blanche and John Guy in Port Arthur, Texas John attended school from 1" grade through High School graduation in Lansing, KS. John spent most of his adult life in and around Idaho Springs, Colorado where he worked at Henderson Mines and later as a Carpenter. He made beautiful pieces of furniture for his family and friends.
John was a member of the ELKS Lodge, PBOE 607 in Idaho Springs, Colorado and actively participated in their activities to include fund raising for different charities and including the JOHN GUY CHILI COOKOFF each year around Father's day. When John relocated to Kansas in 2007, he joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles, #55 in Leavenworth and was in charge of the Friday night BINGO for many years and held various Officer positions. John was a member of the Westside Family Church in Lenexa.
John enjoyed golf and football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and his Beloved Denver Broncos.
John was preceded in death by his Mother, Helen Blanche, his father John Guy, his maternal Grandparents, Walter and Dorothy Stiglmire, his niece Lisa, and his brother in law, Doug Triplett. He is survived by his son, John Marcus (Velda) of Dumont, Colorado and daughter, Jessie (Jaime) of Idaho Springs, Colorado , six grandchildren, Makayla, Emma, Jonnathan (Breanna), Emily, Haley (Justin) and Brandon, as well as eight Great grandchildren, Kayden, Emerald, Bryant, Iris May, Jaxson, Abigail, Ainsley and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Triplett and his brother, Bob Blanche (Lynn), as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends, especially Ray Bailiff and Jerry and Karla Corrick.
John was a Christian and his deep love for his Heavenly Father and family was never ending. His ability to love, laugh, smile, sense of humor, personality and quick wit will be remembered and passed down to generations. Please tell your family and friends that you Love them often and from the heart.

To honor John's wishes, he will be returned to the Mountains in his beloved Colorado where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Elks Lodge in Idaho Springs, Colorado.
