Judith (Judy) A. Towner Schuler, 82, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Judy was born on March 17, 1940 in Olney, Ill., and was the oldest daughter of Gordon and Ruth (Obenland) Towner. They later moved to Dallas, Texas, where she and her sister, Mary, grew up and graduated from high school. She graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in art in 1963.
Judy married Glenn Schuler on December 27, 1962. She is survived by her husband Glenn of Shawnee, Children: Karen Schroeder (Ted), David (Kelly), Keith (Kris) and Doug, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and her sister, Mary Towner Van Deman.
Judy was a homemaker from the time their daughter was born. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was artistic and loved to draw, knit and cross stitch among many other things. In her later years she was a free-lance writer and editor, having a book "Foxes for Kids" published in 1998. She enjoyed playing bridge and meeting weekly with her writer's group. Judy will be remembered for her kind spirit, her laugh and her love of all dogs.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
