Judy Darlene Hathaway, age 71, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on June 17, 2026.

Judy was born on January 14, 1955, in Springfield, Missouri to Jackson Neilson and Lillian Blanche Owens. She dedicated much of her life to being a housewife.

On June 28, 1975, Judy married Jimmy Hathaway. She was a member of the Rock of Ages Church and enjoyed playing cards with her sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jackson Neilson and Lillian Blanche Owens; her brother Harold Neilson, her niece, Charlotte Gambrel; and her niece, Shirley Neilson.

Judy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jimmy Hathaway of Leavenworth, Kansas; her son, James Hathaway and wife Elizabeth; her brother Lonnie Neilson and wife Marsha; and her sister, Connie Gambrel and husband Bill. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Garrett, Brayden, and Kelsie Hathaway. Judy is further survived by her nieces and nephews, Samantha Francis, Alexander Francis, Christopher Gambrel, Jack Neilson, and Tina Neilson; three great-nephews, four great-nieces, and two great-great nephews along with many extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Rock of Ages Church. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will be held immediately following the funeral at Sunset Memory Gardens.
