Kathleen "Katie" Joanne Friend Boyer, Age 60, passed away peacefully in her home on November 30, 2020 in Leavenworth, KS surrounded by family and friends. Katie was born on February 19, 1960 in Miles City, Montana. She is one of five children. She attended St. Mary's college and earned her Bachelors in Psychology and went on to receive her Masters in Social Work from Kansas University. She was an amazing singer and had many talents. She touched the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. She is survived by her husband of 38 years David Boyer; daughter, Julie Boyer; grandkids, Jayden Brown, Tessa Coleman, and Tyvin Coleman Jr; her mother-in-law, Mildred Boyer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Homer Friend; her sister, Patti Friend; brother, Jim Friend; nephew, John Friend; father-in-law, Jack Boyer; and sister-in-law, Erma Boyer. Family, friends, and others whose lives Katie touched are invited to Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth, KS 66048, at 1:00 pm on Friday December 11, 2020 to celebrate her life.
