Kenneth Leo McEvoy, Easton, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Kenneth, was born January 28, 1932, in rural Leavenworth, the son of Leo and Bertha Kern McEvoy.

On January 6, 1952 he married Pearl J. Fevurly at Easton, Kansas officiated by Rev. John Hodge. She proceeded him in death on December 21, 2020.

He is survived by his children, Linda Kay and husband William Woodworth, Topeka, Kansas; Jack McEvoy and Kimberly, Lansing, Kansas; Dr. James and wife Peggy McEvoy, Saginaw, Michigan; Kim and Sharon McEvoy, Leavenworth, Kansas; Tammy and husband Rick Hall, Topeka, Kansas; along with 14 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A sister Rita Bannon survives in Leavenworth, Kansas. A sister Shirley Broom preceded him in death.

Kenneth worked as a machine operator at Gold National Batteries for 43 years. Kenneth attended Friends Church at Springdale, Kansas.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 6 - 8 PM at Davis Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10 AM at Davis Funeral Chapel.

Interment will be at Easton Cemetery, following the service.

Since childhood, Kenny enjoyed drawing cars, airplanes and other things. He drew an airplane once so detailed he was accused of tracing it and the teacher scolded him for "lying"when he said he drew it.

Other artistic talents included photography which is where many of our cherished photos came from including a sweet photo of his sweetheart, Pearl, when she was just 16.

He enjoyed working with his hands and was quite skilled at metal working, woodworking and carpentry, leaving to his children several beautiful pieces.

He was always attracted to antique cars, planes, trains, boats, tractors, steam engines… anything with mechanics. This sparked our family tradition of attending the annual threshing bees and fairs. He also developed his own skill in mechanics, fixing cars, bikes and mowers often times for neighbors with no charge beyond the cost of parts. He said it was his way of giving back.

He greatly appreciated the wonders of nature and its intricate artistic designs. He would often stop to admire some small bit of creation, a flower, a leaf, a stone…

He spent a great deal of time outdoors. He enjoyed motorcycle trips with Pearl early in their marriage and many years of camping and boating with the whole family. We remember him showing off his flair of daring trick skiing!

He was a quiet man with a witty sense of humor who knew how to find fun in life.
