Larry Dean Ragland, 87. Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026. Larry was born Sept. 30, 1938, in Nyssa Oregon, the youngest of five children to Fred W. & Musie G. (Jones)Ragland. Larry graduated from Winchester High School in 1956. He joined the Marines from 1956 to 1960. He married Peggy J. (Wendel)Ragland August 10, 1962. She survives at home.
Larry worked as a Roofer and then a Plumber for Besel’s / Greenameyer Rentals in Leavenworth Kansas until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed spending time with family doing outdoor activities such as camping boating and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, trivial pursuit and building model trains. He was a loyal Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan.
Larry was proceeded in death by his parents and siblings Betty Reynolds, Loren Ragland, Ellen Perine and Glenda Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Peggy, daughters Tammy Dominguez (Nicholas), Tracey Kochanowski (James) and son Travis Ragland (Heather). Grand children Paul Muse (Danielle), Cole Muse (Dana, Macey Muse (Michael), Wyatt Kochanowski, Quinten Kochanowski (Grace), and Parker Kochanowski. Trevor Ragland (Kayla). Great grandchildren, Lane and Presley Muse, AJ Wells and Pria Muse, Merrick Floyd. Lewis and Archer Kochanowski. Kaisen and Arlo Ragland. Brother and sister-in-law Marty and Madaline Wendel. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church 2101 10th Avenue Leavenworth Kansas 66048 Monday June 29th. 2026 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the church on Tuesday June 30th, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be immediately following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 16731 Springdale Road, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048. Please join the family for a luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church following the graveside services.
