Lawrence "Larry" Redford, 74, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2020 surrounded by family, at his home in Leavenworth, KS. Larry was born August 20, 1946 in Leavenworth, to Melvin & Jean (Forge) Redford. He graduated from Immaculata High School in 1964, and Emporia State University in 1971.

His father, Melvin, preceded Larry in death.  He is survived by his mother Jean, wife Rosemary (Davis) Redford, children Lance (Tiffany) Redford of Phoenix, AZ, Ryan (Mike) Redford of Tucson, AZ, Heather (Mark) Sullivan of Leawood, KS, and AJ (Kimberly) Fleming of Richmond, VA, sister Patricia (Herb) Nye of Lenexa, KS and brothers Bob of Leavenworth, Ron (Carolyn) of Derby, KS, Mark (Joanie) of Omaha, NE, and Mike (Claudette) of Platte City, MO. Larry has 8 grandchildren Lauren, Jordan, & Tyler Redford (Phoenix, AZ), Jack & Samantha Sullivan (Leawood, KS), Davis, Drew, & Dustin Fleming (Richmond, VA), several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was proud that he came from a large family and was known for his generosity.

One of Larry's greatest joys was raising and watching his children grow, and he loved being a grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He was a dedicated and loving father, and named as Leavenworth's first 'Super Dad' based on an essay by his son, Ryan. He was an avid watcher of the Chiefs and Jayhawks, and cherished his annual trip to Las Vegas with his boys, during the March Madness basketball tournament.

Larry was steadfast in his faith and passionate about giving back to the community. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and served as the President of the Catholic Youth Organization sports. He helped start the Youth Achievement Center, volunteered at the V.A., and spent several years coaching youth baseball and basketball. He enjoyed interacting with others, and relished the time spent with his clients during his 40+ years with American Family Insurance.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm at Davis Funeral Chapel at 531 Shawnee, masks required. Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm on Friday, August 28, 2020 at St Joseph Catholic Church, 306 N Broadway, followed by a private burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry's name to the National Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research or Leavenworth CYO sports.
