Linda R.
Kesinger
Aug 29, 1947 — Mar 16, 2022
Linda Rae (Scott) Kesinger, 74, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2022, at her home in Lansing, KS, after a valiant & brave 7 month battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband & two daughters as she left this Earth destined for glory in the arms of her Lord & Savior.
Linda was born to James (Dewey) & Opal (Scheiner) Scott on August 29, 1947, in Hannibal, MO. Dewey passed away unexpectedly prior to her first birthday. After his death, Opal married Jesse Perkins. She was blessed to have him in her life & lovingly called him "Dad."
After meeting through a blind date, Linda married Freddie Ray Kesinger in Leavenworth, KS, on July 1, 1967. They were married just shy of 55 years. From their union, their daughters were born: Michele Renee & Kimberly Dawn.
Linda graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1965. Upon graduation, she worked at Foster's Cabinet Shop as a secretary. After having her girls, she was a stay-at-home Mom until Kimberly was of age to attend preschool. Linda joined her there as an assistant teacher at the Women's Community Y &, after several years, moved to the St. Luke's Medical Plaza in Leavenworth, working as a front desk receptionist for 27 years before her retirement in 2020.
Linda was a devout Christian who lived out her faith daily. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Leavenworth, since the age of 5 years old. She loved planting flowers, shopping, traveling & being present for every program, every game & every event that her children & grandchildren participated in. She enjoyed M&Ms, Wendy's Frostys, fudge, ice cream & Sis' Sweets cookies. She was always smiling, always kind & was a friend to many. Besides her relationship with her Heavenly Father, nothing brought her more joy than that of her family.
She was absolutely adored for her unending devotion to those she loved, for her sound advice & for her zest for life. She will be sorely missed by her entire family as we await our reunion on Heaven's glorious shores.
Linda is survived by her husband, Fred; daughter, Michele Bruner & husband, Terry; Kimberly Mattingly & husband, Gary; grandsons, Grant, Mason & Reece; step-grandchildren, Trey & Cami; brother, Gerald & wife, Lillian; & a whole host of special in-laws, cousins, nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents - Dewey Scott & Opal & Jesse Perkins.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart & with all your soul & with all your strength & with all your mind." Luke 10:27
