Linda Kathryn Warner

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Kathryn Warner, age 78, who lost her battle with breast cancer on July 2, 2026, in Lansing, Kansas, surrounded by her loving children, Sherrie T. Warner, L. Darlene Bennell, and David Lee Warner, Jr.

Linda was born on March 1, 1948, in El Paso, Texas, to William Arren Parsons and Winona Kathleen (Kathy) Parsons. From an early age, she possessed a kind heart, a creative spirit, and a quiet strength that would remain with her throughout her life.

On June 7, 1964, at Fort Bliss, Texas, Linda married the love of her life, David Lee Warner, Sr. Together they built a family and shared many years of love while raising their three children: Sherrie, Darlene, and David Jr.

Throughout her life, Linda worked in a variety of occupations, but her greatest gift was her creativity. Whether she was quilting, crocheting, knitting afghans, sewing clothing, painting, or creating beautiful handmade treasures, she poured her heart into everything she made. In May 1986, one of her doily patterns was published by Workbasket magazine—a source of great pride and a testament to her talent. More than anything, Linda found joy in sharing her handmade creations with family and friends, giving each piece as an expression of her love.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Lee Warner, Sr.; her parents, William and Kathy Parsons; her infant daughter, Debra Ann; and an infant son.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Sherrie (Ken Cannella) Warner, Darlene (Larry) Bennell, and David (Lynn) Warner; her four grandchildren, Cody (Alisha), Hailey (Kendall), Brayden, and Brogan; her four great-grandchildren, Brecken, Kyson, Huk, and Cora; her brother, Dale (Eddi); her sister, Marjorie; along with many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and generosity.

Linda’s gentle heart, unwavering love for her family, and creative spirit touched everyone who knew her. The quilts she stitched, the afghans she crocheted, the paintings she created, and the countless gifts she lovingly made will remain treasured reminders of a life devoted to caring for others. While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

A private graveside service will be held for the family on Friday, July 10, 2026.
