Margaret Owens, 85, Leavenworth, passed away and promoted to Glory early Saturday morning, March 8, 2025 at home. Margaret Ann (Hart) was born 11/23/39 in Washington, DC to Virginia and Leslie Hart. She moved to Leavenworth shortly after birth, making this her forever home. Margaret, also lovingly referred to as Mag, Maggie or Meg, married Gerald (Jerry) Owens, the love of her life April 1, 1961. They were united 24 days shy of 64 years. She worked at the VA in admissions and the DAV for nearly 25 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and volunteered in the basement kitchen for many meals. In fact, making and taking food to people for whatever reason was what she was famous for in this town. She is survived by her husband, Gerald F. (Jerry) Owens, 2 daughters, Rene (Waiki) Tran of San Diego, CA; and Jody Dolsberry of Gainesville, FL. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Brandon (Sarah) Tran, Devin Tran. There will be a rosary on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 10:30 followed by the service at Davis Funeral Chapel with Father Glen, pastor from Immaculate Conception-St. Joseph Parish.The family suggests memorials to Leavenworth Council on Aging.
